Intakes vs Inventora

Inventora is a lighter, cheaper maker tool with six shop integrations and stock kept in sync across them. Intakes costs each run from what it actually used, counts your labor and overhead, keeps a bulk purchase open while you use it, records expenses and mileage, produces a year-end packet, and includes unlimited people — and it handles resale beside production. If you mainly need stock synced across your shops at a low price, Inventora fits. If you need the full cost of what you make and the books around it, Intakes does.

Questions people ask

How does each one cost a finished product?
Inventora costs materials first-in-first-out from your supply orders, with shipping, taxes and discounts folded in, and calculates the COGS of sales synced from your shops; it says it does not track labor cost. Intakes prices each production run from the materials it actually consumed, plus whatever labor and overhead you add to that run, spread over what the run produced — so a finished candle carries materials, your time and overhead.
Which connects to more shops?
Inventora: Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, Square, Wix and Squarespace, with stock levels kept in sync across them. Intakes connects eBay and Etsy, reads them within a minute of an order, and does not write stock back yet; Shopify and Square are next. If you sell on several of those shops and need their stock in step today, Inventora does that and Intakes does not.
Does Inventora do expenses and taxes?
Its help centre shows how to pull inventory and purchase totals from its Reports page for your tax return, and says to value closing inventory at cost. Expenses, mileage and a tax report are not described. Intakes records expenses with receipts and mileage at the IRS rate, and produces a year-end packet with cost of goods worked two ways and placed on Schedule C.
Which is cheaper?
Inventora starts at $23 a month with limits on materials, product variants and team members (two on Starter, extra members $9 to $15 each). Intakes is $49 a month with 1,000 items and 300 sales included and unlimited people. For one person with a few hundred products Inventora costs less; for a team, or a catalog past its limits, the gap closes.

The whole cost of every candle.

Materials at what you paid for them, freight spread in, your hours and overhead on the run, and a year-end packet that reconciles. 90 days free, no card.
