Intakes vs Vendoo

These are different tools, and the honest answer is that many sellers want both. Vendoo’s job is getting one listing onto eleven marketplaces and taking it down everywhere when it sells. Intakes’ job is knowing what each piece cost you and what each sale earned, with eBay and Etsy orders and fees arriving on their own. Vendoo tracks profit from figures you type; Intakes works it out from the purchase. If you only want one, pick by which problem hurts more.

Side by side

  Intakes Vendoo
Built for
Knowing the true cost and profit of everything you buy, make and sell.
Listing an item on many marketplaces at once and managing those listings.
Crosslisting
— Intakes reads listings from eBay and Etsy and does not publish yet. Publishing and stock sync are on the way.
✓ Eleven marketplaces: eBay, Etsy, Poshmark, Mercari, Depop, Whatnot, Grailed, Facebook Marketplace, Vestiaire Collective, Sellwild and Shopify. Bulk edit, templates, AI listing help, delist and relist.
When something sells
✓ eBay and Etsy orders arrive within a minute of being paid, with the buyer, lines, fees, label and tracking. Other channels are recorded by hand.
✓ Sale detection on six marketplaces delists the item everywhere else; you then enter the sale details. Other sales are marked sold by hand.
Cost of goods
✓ From the purchase: a lot bought for one price is spread across its pieces with freight and fees, and what you sell while unpacking is provisional until the lot closes.
◐ A cost-of-goods field you type on each item.
Fees on a sale
✓ Read from eBay and Etsy by kind — final value fee, processing, a label — and placed on the sale; a sale cannot complete while it records less than the marketplace charged.
◐ Entered with the sale details when an item is marked sold; a free fee calculator helps estimate them.
Profit and analytics
✓ Profit per sale, per item, per category, per channel and per source (which thrift store or auction pays), bestsellers, slow movers, margin in stock.
✓ Profit, revenue, average sale price, top brands and categories, by marketplace; custom labels for grouping; CSV export.
Stock by quantity, lots, production
✓ Units and lots, split and merge, recipes and work orders.
◐ Multi-quantity listings; no purchase, lot or production model.
Expenses, mileage and taxes
✓ Expenses with receipts, mileage at the IRS rate, a year-end packet placed on Schedule C.
— Not described on its site beyond the sales spreadsheet.
People
✓ Unlimited people per workspace, roles, permissions and a full history.
◐ Priced per account; team access is not described.
Mobile
◐ Installable web app on iPhone and Android with notifications; no store app.
✓ iOS and Android apps on every plan.

  • You want marketplace fees recorded as the marketplace charged them, without entering them.

Questions people ask

Is Intakes a replacement for Vendoo?
No. Vendoo lists one item on up to eleven marketplaces and delists it everywhere when it sells. Intakes does not publish listings yet; it reads your eBay and Etsy shops and works out the cost and profit of every sale. If crosslisting is what you need, keep Vendoo. If knowing your real margin is what you need, add Intakes.
Does Vendoo track profit?
Yes, per sold item: you give each item a cost of goods, and when it sells you enter the sale price, marketplace fees and shipping, and Vendoo works out the profit and lets you download it as a spreadsheet. Intakes gets the fees from eBay and Etsy themselves, by name, and gets the cost from the purchase the item came in on — including its share of freight and a lot’s price — rather than from a figure typed per item.
Can I use both?
Many sellers do. Vendoo pushes listings out; Intakes brings eBay and Etsy orders in and costs them. Sales on marketplaces Intakes does not connect yet are recorded by hand in Intakes, as they are in Vendoo.
Does Vendoo do bookkeeping and taxes?
It calls its profit and revenue tracking “reseller bookkeeping” and offers a CSV of your sales, costs and fees. Expenses, mileage, inventory valuation and a Schedule C report are not described on its site. Intakes records expenses and mileage, values your inventory on any day, and produces a year-end packet placed on Schedule C.
Which is cheaper?
Vendoo starts at $14.99 a month and its crosslisting-heavy plans run to $59.99. Intakes is $49 a month with 1,000 items and 300 sales included and unlimited people. They buy different things, so most sellers who want both pay for both.
